Grace was beginning to get very tired of sitting by her sister in the pew and of having nothing to do,
When suddenly a White Rabbit with pink eyes ran close by her, dropping a book in her lap.
Grace started to her feet, and burning with curiosity, ran just in time to see the rabbit pop down a large hole under the pulpit.
In another moment down went Grace after it, never once considering how in the world she was to get out again.
Grace had not a chance to think about stopping herself before she found herself falling down a very deep well.
She had plenty of time as she went down to look about her, and to wonder what was going to happen next.
Down, down, down. Would the fall never come to an end?
When suddenly, thump! thump! down she came upon a heap of blogs, and the fall was over.
She looked back, but it was all dark.
There were doors all round, but they were all locked.
She walked sadly down the middle, wondering how she was ever to get out again.
She knelt down and looked along the passage into the loveliest community you ever saw.
How she longed to get out of that dark hall, and wander about among those bright smiles and those cool people,
“Oh, how I wish I could be part of an authentic community! I think I could, if I only knew how to begin.”
For, you see, so many out-of-the-way things had happened lately, that Grace had begun to think that very few things indeed were really impossible.
